A ‘Holy Grail’ among Annona, this species makes bright red sweet fruit. Sometimes referred to as ‘Queen of the Annonas!’ It is extremely difficult to source plants and seeds of, and difficult to germinate. Seeds can take up to 2 years to sprout!
This is a dwarf species that is likely cold hardy and possibly even frost tolerant. Also tolerates drought. The leaves are a beautiful blue-green color and are highly hydrophobic, with water beading up on the creating a stunning bejeweled look in the rain.
Fruits are bright red and about the size of an average domesticated strawberry. The flavor is said to be pleasant and sweet with a pumpkin candy taste.
Can be fruited in containers in limited spaces, a great chicefor apartments, balconies and rooftop gardens. Could also be kept in a sunny window and grown indoors if given enough light. It is possible to pollinate by hand.
