Duguetia echinophora - Ameju

$750.00

One of the rarest plants we have ever grown - this is the first instance of this plant being offered in the USA! A truly stunning relative of the soursop! A species that has perhaps never left Brazil!

One of the most beautiful fruits of the Annonaceae family native to Brazil, this species constitutes what could be considered a Holy Grail for Annonaceae enthusiasts!

The fruit resembles a bright red sugar apple with pointed scales which correspond to segments of orange flesh that have a delectably sweet fruity and floral taste!

Unfortunately, as with most of the stunning and enigmatic fruits of this rare genus, there is scant information on the fruit or about growing it. This species as with many in the genus are under threat due to their slow growing nature and habitat destruction. Seeds for this species took nearly 1 year to germinate!

This is truly a cutting-edge offering, rare even in ints native Brazil, and is recommended only for experienced and advanced tropical fruit growing deep-divers.

Sorry but we cannot currently ship this item to AZ, CA, HI, TX
